Training

Every responsible hunter knows that preparation is the truest form of respect. Training is not only about hitting a target, it’s about mastering composure, safety, and decision-making under pressure. The goal is consistency, to ensure that when a shot is taken, it is quick, precise, and humane.
I have spent countless hours at the range and in shooting cinemas, refining technique and judgment long before entering the forest. These sessions are where precision becomes instinct, where equipment is tested, muscle memory is built, and ethical standards are reinforced. Each exercise teaches patience, awareness, and self-discipline, qualities that carry far beyond the shooting range.
Training also includes understanding animal behaviour and reading the environment, recognising age, sex, wind direction, scent, and terrain. To hunt well is to prepare for every possible variable so that in the field, nothing is left to chance.
No hunter is ever truly finished learning. Whether you are new to the sport or have decades of experience, continued practice ensures we honour the game we pursue. Skill without humility is meaningless, true mastery lies in the quiet pursuit of improvement.
Training transforms hunting from a pastime into a craft built on precision, respect, and purpose.
